Introduction
Mera Peak, Nepal's highest trekking peak stands proudly at 6,654 meter, located in the remote region of Khumbu. Adventure begins from the village of Lukla, the gate-way to Everest. The trip from here leads to the adjoining high mountain hills of Naulekh. On leaving the last settlement, heading east to a steep climb of three hours to the top ridge. From here, it's a steep descent to the hidden valley of Hinku, as the bottom is reached on the valley; a pleasant walk leads you through the tranquil forest of oaks pines and rhododendron with grazing pastures and meadows. Then slowly reaching at the 5,800 meter high camp, on the foot of Mera Peak, the climb to the summit is technically straight forward on a long glacier.
As the final destination is reached on top of the summit, beauty and a panorama of the mountains awaits, including the top five 8000 meter Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and Mt.Cho-Oyu. After the wonderful adventurous trek, retrace the remaining journey back to Lukla for the sweeping flight back to Kathmandu.
